#Jetico firewall 1.0 manual

I read it was similar to Kerio 2.1.5 with a written rule set ,so I will probably need a real good manual or reliable forum. The Google translator was having problems. I see you run Jetico, have you found a English version of their manual or a good forum. You have to manually clean the registry if you want to change firewalls. They do not have a (2005 the last I checked ) registry cleaning utility like Symantec or BlackIce. I have heard about memory hogging and crashes, but the biggest reason not to use it in my opion was on their forums. It seemed to do the work without me making so many mistakes. I am currently using the old kerio 2.1.5 with a advanced ruleset I found on dslreports.

I will probably keep researching, when I find more time.) ( I have not wrote Sunbelt Kerio completely off, but would like to find a better solution. I also have not found alot of documentation to help me fine tune it. It wants you to set it and forget it, from my reading that is not the best way to operate your firewall. The Sunbelt Kerio does not seem to have alot of adjustments. I had a great deal of blue screens on two Mellenium computers to chance it on a XP.

Outpost #1 is available I believe to but they do not plan to update it according to their (2005 or 2006) forums. Their are several reasons I wrote off the popular firewalls for a permanent firewall. Kerio and Outpost still have free versions available. I use Jetico on my machines and I use a SmoothWall also.

Any links or advice would be appreciated and thanks in advance. I have surfed around and found a few open source firewalls, none have a big following. They make their money in help and support as I understand it. I think a windows open source firewall that proved its self to the community would clean up right now. I believe a firewall hacker would have the same problem. People keep saying that since the building of a Linux variation constantly changes as it is developed, a Linux hacker would be constantly updating his program to keep up. Linux has several firewalls as I understand. I remember reading that the generally thinking a few years ago was a open source firewall would end up hacked. I would like to see a very large user review history that is critically honest of both its strong points and its flaws. I wondered if any of the community knew of a viable open source firewall, for Windows. I have seen the loss of Outpost Free, Kerio personal firewall and Sygate personal firewall.
